Autumn-Winter Fashion 2008

The collections for this autumn and winter set the catwalks on fire. It seemed that designers stepped out of the cliché and tried bringing new life to creations that have never been seen on the ramps ever. The collection this winter is for the real, bold women who are powerful, sexy and confident. Equally expressive was the jewelry flaunted by the models which spoke volumes of the luxury, style and élan with which today’s woman chooses to live. Let’s see what’s in store for us:
The color that was predominantly seen was the flattering black which in a unique way seemed a glitzy version of the shade used during the high octane eighties. The D&G and Gucci collections reflected the hippies of the 1970’s and focused once again on black all through.
Frida Giannini came up with a glossy and a polished look this season. While the summer’s flowing dresses were gone what caught the eye were the high waist leg trousers with military detailing. The feminism was at its peak with waist clinching belts lining the feminine silhouettes and form.
What more?
The jewelry simply added on the ensembles. In fact they made a statement of their own talking about the easiest way for every woman to look chic and dapper this season. The beads were elegantly stringed to serve as a perfect accessory for formal occasions as well as light parties. The folklore was impressively depicted in the costumes with jewelry further adding to the hip and glam of the apparels.
The make-up was one of the most important additions this season. Keeping in mind the hues that made couture this time of the year; shades used for make-up were deep berry for the lips and bronze for the eyes. From smoky shadows lining the eyes to thick black eye liners, everything looked as ritzy and classy. Also dark plum nail polishes made their presence felt as they seemed as a perfect add-on to stylize the look brought forth by the designers.
So in a nutshell, the couture for the autumn/winter season spelled absolute magic on the audiences as well as the fashion buffs who were simply spellbound with the concept and the kind of styling put to use. So if you are a fashion buff too and were waiting for this season’s collection, keep yourself geared to hit the shelves and have the eye balls popping.
