Some think that the French manicure has gone passed and outdated, while some are of the opinion that French manicure is evergreen and can never run out of style because of its simple and elegant look. Whatever the style trend is, women mostly go for French manicure because of the natural look it evokes. It also gives the nails that clean, well-groomed appearance that is neither flashy nor fussy.

Now, how to go about putting a French manicure- French manicure is well suited for short nails or nails with moderate nails. You should start by cleaning your nails with acetone remover and then giving them a nice trim. After you clean and trim your nails, apply a base coat to your nails. Keep this base coat thin and even and then put a tip guide to your nails that will cover the lower part of your nail and keep the naturally white part open. Then apply white nail paint on the tips. If you are not comfortable with pure white, then you can go for off-whites. After applying white let the nails dry completely. Keep the white line thin and even as if you keep the white part thick, your nails will look chunky.

When the white polish on the tips dry completely, remove the nail tip guides thoroughly. Then, paint the entire length of your nails with a beige polish or a polish with a transparent pinkish tone. Put two coats of this polish and then after this put a layer of top coat on your nails and then dry them completely. This is the final step and after drying, your French manicure is complete. To extend the life of your French manicure and to make your nails look well groomed and beautiful, apply and extra layer of top coat on your nails every night.

For all its simplicity and fresh look, putting the French manicure can be a bit tricky and tedious if you don’t have the right things to use. Most drug stores and beauty shops sell a proper French manicure kit which has all the needed things for the right French manicure. Whereas if you are not confident about putting it yourself, you can always visit a nail saloon and get your nails done.

Story of red and black nail colors

When it comes to nail paints, women generally prefer to go delicately feminine and sport soft and girly colors like pinks, light browns and maroon shades. This season, for get about these boring colors and play with the wacky and bold nail enamels-reds and blacks. Nowadays ladies are experimenting with nail enamels like red, black and white, as they want to think out of the box and sport colors that are different. They don’t mind flaunting such bold nail enamels with confidence.

Black nail color has always been associated with the rock lovers and those who love to be different. Black nail paint is also associated with people who believe in gothic culture. And for some, playing gothic is exciting and elegant. It is an unusual color to wear in hands, so it’s a bit difficult to carry. So, keeping the trend aside, one should give it a thought if the color suits them and they can carry them well. For the people who fancy red, there is good news as it is back in trend again! Various shades of red are available in the market to suit different skin tones. This is quite a contrast from the recent past when red had virtually gone out of fashion and was considered suited for oldies. Now the color has become young again. Not everyone is blessed with beautiful hands, so it is very important for you to pick the right shade for your skin tone and carry it with confidence.

Apart from red and black, women are also experimenting with other shades like that of blue, green, mauve, gold and silver-a lot different from the conventional nail paints and are becoming popular among the young crowd. Bold colors draw a lot of attention to your hands. As the punk look is in fashion, choosing the bold colors will get you the right attention and the image you are seeking for. Such colors are meant for you if you are a religious follower of fashion trends.

Bold colors are more common among teenagers, and the middle-aged women still prefer to follow the conventional norm by starting and ending with browns and pinks. Experimentation is more common among the young crowd as usual and hence we see them sporting loud colors unlike the women in their 30s who don’t wish to experiment.

But this season, just forget about the boring pinks and browns and play with bold and bright blacks and reds and make your hands attention prone.
