Monochromes – Styles you’ll die for!
![]() |
Clear bright colors are not the only way to express your blithe summer moods. There’s much more to it. There’s a black side of us and a white side of us. And what happens when we mix the two?? Well, well, a sizzling monochrome for sure. For those of you who have been thinking that monochromes are not in-vogue, rattle yourself a bit more. Because the latest spring-summer 2008 collections have brought with them camaraderie of black and white designs in styles, most creative and innovative! Back teamed with white is a very strong look is spring. 2008 calls for monochromes in fuller skirts.
You can try prints like black and white spots, stripes, checks and tribal abstract patterns. Also white trench coats, stud crop denim jackets or bustier dresses with striped belts will serve as a decent pick this season. If you have a thick waist, but slim hips you may find full skirts hard to wear. The answer is to opt for a full skirt which is set on a Basque yoke, or deep wide waistband. Alternatively, choose princess seamed fullness,
A-line or circular flare which very easily hides your extra flab. A large volume of fabric worked into fine gathers or pleats can make you look heavy and add pounds if you are thick waisted. However, those with neat slender waists, but saddle bag thighs, will find a full skirt truly satisfying, whilst playing down the negative body part. So you see, monochromes are after all not so outdated as you thought they would be. Some of us may find the combination a bit too stark but if neatly assembled and designed, it can make you look very classy. Black or white stilettos will further perfect your ensemble. So on a night out, try wearing your monochrome wit your black stilettos and you only have people turning to you again and again and AGAIN!
