Ovulating Women prefer sexy additions to wardrobe

A recently concluded study by researchers from the University of Minnesota has suggested that women tend to make sexy additions to wardrobes when they are at their most fertile. This attempt is often made unconsciously and is expected to be driven by a desire among women to outscore over other women and not to impress men.

The research suggested that there is a relationship between hormonal factors and consumer behavior and also suggested that dressing choice of women, in their most fertile years, is influenced by other women in their environment. The research team also suggested that ovulatory cycle effects could influence consumer behavior among the fairer sex in a profound manner, a fact which may be of interest for marketers.

Results of this study have nullified all statements made in the past suggesting that ovulating and non-ovulating women share the same shopping habits and these habits are not influenced in any matter whatsoever by ovulation or hormonal factors. The study results were also clear in suggesting that the fertility status of a woman is the deciding factor to measure the level of competition for a suitable partner. The study was published in the Journal of Consumer Research and is considered to have implications for understanding the association between women, hormonal factors, and shopping for clothes.

In short, the study demonstrated that there is a close link between hormonal factors and shopping preferences among members of the fairer sex. It is believed that results of this study will open new doors for more research in this segment.
