THE STYLE FILE

STRUCTURED CUTS
The loose and flowing silhouettes of the past few months were a godsend for women with body like jiggly tummies and saggy breasts. And they used this style to hide these flaws. Well, the good times are over.
Fashion gurus predict that the structured cut will become really big in the winter that will see the arrival of figure hugging coats or jackets.
SMALL BAGS
Big bags are still going strong. But the international trend is on the wane and the size of bags is gradually decreasing. Smaller bags, including clutches, in every possible material, from silk to leather to satin, are getting popular but are likely to co-exist with big bags.
Small bags are handy for an evening out and go with any attire. Also, unlike big bags, they don’t take away the attention from your attire.
WAIST UP
The low-rise style has been around for a few years now so its ouster was not only expected, it was awaited. The high-waist style is inspired by the vintage look and has been sneaking up on us for a few months now. It is available in the market for both skirts and trousers.
As compared to low waists, high waists flatter most of us because they hold us in at all the right places and give us a smooth silhouette. Wear high waist trousers or skirts with tucked in tops. One should sport high-waist hat cling to the upper waist since that is slimmer than the lower waist. Allow the pants/skirt to seam down from there. That way you can hide a big butt too.
PEEP TOES
This is a versatile time for footwear fashion with all styles of heels co-existing happily like a big fat, joint family. So you have pencil heels rubbing heels with wedges that co-exist along with platforms.
However, the shoe style of the season is not the heel, it is the toe. The one trend in fashion that is really hot this season is the peep toe, an elegant girlie style, peep-toe is the most popular style, but the comfortable ballerinas will still be in demand.
OTHER TRENDS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
• Over sized jewel fastenings on bags.
• Minaudiere bags with bracelet handle or chains.
• Layered and structured asymmetric dresses.
• Unusual heel decorations and details on mod-high heels.
• Knee-length skirts
• Boots.
• Lantern sleeves.
• Long flowing gowns.
• Trench coats.
