Tips to wear a sari

Sari is the native outfit of India. Dressing in a sari is very easy and it will look gorgeous on you and make you look classy and glamorous. A sari is a long single piece of fabric, approximately 4 to 9 meters in length and 1 meter in width.
Slim women should go in for wearing cotton Sari, Tissue Sari, Tapeta Silk Sari to look attractive and gorgeous. Shorter women should wear Sari with small borders or no borders so that they may look tall and tall women should wear the Sari with big borders.
Here are a few tips that will help you wear a sari:
• The first step is to wear the blouse, petticoat, and shoes that you plan to wear. It is advisable not to wear a flared petticoat inside.. The petticoat color should match the base sari color as closely as possible. The shoes you choose to wear should be elegant, like golden sandals.
• Put on the petticoat and tighten the drawstring.
• Then wear the sari by tucking its plain or upper end into the petticoat, at a position which is a little bit to the right of the navel.
• Then you need to learn the art of pleating it Stretch your left hand and hold the cloth with your thumb and pinkie finger, then wind the cloth with your right hand through the thumb and pinkie holding with alternating fingers. Beginning from the tucked-in end start making pleats in the sari, about 5 inches deep.
• You should be able to gather approximately 7 to 10 pleats. Hold them together so that they fall evenly.
• Then tuck in your pleats. Tuck the pleats into the waist slightly to the left of the navel, and make sure that they are turned towards the left. You can pin the pleats together so that they stay in place and its comfortable for you to manage the sari.
• You can place a small pin wherever you need a little more security.
• Put the pin on the back shoulder. This will help you keep the sari intact and the pin should not be showing.
• Finally when you done with draping a sari look into the mirror to get mesmerized by your look.
